Toby was Jess’s boyfriend and the idea of starting a family seemed overwhelming. Yet they shared adventures together. I bonded deeply.
Amos, the dog, was new to house living before meeting Jess and Toby.
He lived solely at the rescue center. Amos struggled with indoor life – disliking the carpet on his paws and developing a fear of the TV noise.
Finding his water bowl is challenging for this dog. At first, Toby, suspicious of Amos, surprises Jess with an offer. Toby gently guides Amos to his water bowl with thrusts. From push to mentor, Toby guided Amos. Jess and her family knew they had made a new friend.
Amos was later assessed by an eye specialist. It was decided to remove his eyes due to potential daily discomfort and suffering.
At first, when Amos and Toby walked, he was nervous. The surrounding sounds will frighten him. He frequently needs breaks to rest and refocus.
Amos and Toby hike hills together, with Toby aiding Amos using physical shocks and thrusts. If Amos strays, Toby guides him back.
They bond. Consider each other’s limitations. Although Amos has improved at hiking, he still needs to learn more about interacting with dogs.
Toby mediates due to Amos’s non-dog communication. Every day, Toby and Jess work together to enhance his skills! Amos couldn’t have asked for a better guide and protector than Toby.
They’ve been there for each other as buddies, through everything.
