During a recent appearance on The View, Robert De Niro sparked controversy after being muted twice while delivering a harsh critique on the former President and conservative values.

The 80-year-old actor compared Trump to notorious dictators Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini, warning that if he gets re-elected would signal dire consequences for the country. His comments were so intense that the show’s producers muted him twice, with De Niro even apologizing for his language before continuing his rant.

What did Jesse Watters say?

Fox News host Jesse Watters reacted strongly to De Niro’s outburst, accusing the veteran actor of having “completely lost his mind” in his later years. Watters dismissed the comparison between Trump and Mussolini, sarcastically noting that “most Democrats don’t even know who that is—they probably think he’s an appetizer at an Italian restaurant.”

Watters expressed surprise at De Niro’s continued anger, remarking, “I thought when people get older, they find peace. When I’m De Niro’s age, I hope to be basking in tranquility, but not De Niro. He’s lost his mind.”

Watters also took a jab at De Niro’s past work, referencing the actor’s famous role in the 1980 film Raging Bull. “Raging Bull—kind of liked the movie better,” he quipped after playing clips of De Niro’s muted rants.

De Niro won’t change

De Niro didn’t hold back during his appearance on The View, reiterating his disdain for conservatives . “Those people who support that kind of things with anger and hate, they’re going to see and regret,” he said.”

This latest clash between De Niro and conservative values highlights the ongoing divide between Hollywood and conservative media, with figures like Watters quick to criticize what they see as out-of-touch elites.
